Brian Collignon was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, on December
22, 1974. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and
environmental science from Mount Marty College in 1997. He received
his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Washburn University in 2000.
As a member of the Washburn Law Journal, Mr. Collignon
published Taking Into Consideration the "Decency Clause":
National Endowment for the Arts v. Finley, 38 Washburn L.J. 929
(1999). He was admitted to the Kansas Bar and joined Fleeson,
Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, L.L.C., in 2000.
Mr. Collignon currently serves the firm as the leader of the
Litigation Practice Group.
Mr. Collignon's
practice areas include personal injury litigation, liability
insurance issues, workers compensation law, construction law,
construction arbitration and litigation, construction surety bond
claims and litigation, commercial landlord litigation, general
business litigation and jury trial practice.

Argued before the Kansas Supreme
Court in American Family Mut.
Ins. Co. v. Wilkins (decision pending) [insurance
dispute arising out of interpleader].

Defended multiple employers in various Workers' Compensation
claims.

Obtained summary judgment for construction industry client in
claim by third party alleging damages as third-party beneficiary
of construction contract.

Successfully prosecuted claim brought by owner for fraud
against building installer and supplier.

Successfully brought claim for construction industry client in
administrative action related to contract delay issues.

Represented homebuilder in copyright infringement dispute
and negligent construction claims.

Obtained summary judgment in defense of
city police officers in wrongful arrest claim.

Obtained summary judgment in bad faith
claim made against insurance company.
Mr. Collignon is an active member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar
Associations and the Kansas Association for Justice. He recently
presented at seminars entitled "Fundamentals of Workers’
Compensation Law" and "Advanced Workers' Compensation in
Kansas." Mr. Collignon’s civic activities include
participation in the YMCA and United Way.
