Mr. Rider was born in Hays, Kansas. He
received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from
Fort Hays
State University in 1981. In 1985 Mr. Rider received his Juris
Doctor degree from Washburn University. He is admitted to appear in
the state and federal courts of Kansas, as well as the Tenth Circuit
Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to coming to Fleeson in 2008, Mr. Rider was a founding member
of the law firm of Brown, Dengler, Good & Rider, L.C. Mr. Rider’s
practice is devoted to education and school law; business and
corporate law (including the formation of corporations and other
entities, asset and stock purchase and sale agreements, mergers and
acquisitions); estate planning and probate; guardianship and
conservatorship; and real estate law. Mr. Rider is a frequent
speaker on education and business topics at seminars sponsored by
community and professional organizations.
Mr. Rider is a member of the Wichita Bar Association, Kansas Bar
Association and the American Bar Association. He is chairman of the
Wichita Bar Association Building Management Committee, a member of
the Wichita Bar Association Probate Committee and Wichita Lawyers
Assistance Committee. Mr. Rider is a past recipient of the
President’s Award from the Wichita Bar Association. Mr. Rider is
also a member and a former board member of the Kansas School
Attorneys Association and a member of the National School Board
Association Council of School Attorneys.
Mr. Rider is active in a variety of community organizations and
activities. He is a board member of the Via Christi Foundation,
Health Concepts Foundation and the Weeks Charitable Foundation. He
is currently serving as vice president of the Tallgrass East
Homeowners Association. Mr. Rider has also served on the parish
school council of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, the Wichita
Area Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and has volunteered for
various community programs and activities. Mr. Rider and his wife,
Ann, a Wichita attorney, have two daughters who attend Kapaun Mt.
Carmel High School and a son at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.
