Practice Areas:

Tom Lasater was born in Monte Vista, Colorado and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from West Texas State University, graduating magna cum laude, in 1979. While at West Texas State, Mr. Lasater was a two-year letterman in football and a member of the 1977 Missouri Valley Conference championship team. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from George Washington University in 1982. He was admitted to the Kansas bar and joined Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, L.L.C. in 1982. He is a member of the Firm's Executive Committee.

Mr. Lasater practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, commercial transactions, UCC litigation, bankruptcy and business law.

Mr. Lasater is a member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations. He is a past member of the WBA Board of Governors, past WBA secretary-treasurer, past WBA vice-president, and WBA president in 1999-2000. Mr. Lasater is an active member of the WBA Ethics Committee and Impaired Lawyers Assistance Committee. He is past president of the Wichita Young Lawyers and the Wichita Lawyer's Club. Mr. Lasater is also past president and past vice president of the KBA Bankruptcy Section.  Mr. Lasater is currently President of the Wichita Bar Foundation and President-Elect of the Wichita Metro YMCA Board of Directors.  He has been recognized in the publication "Best Lawyers of America"® in the area of Corporate Law.

In his spare time, Mr. Lasater competes in triathalons, duathalons and ultramarathons. He is an avid traveler, mountain climber and white water rafter.
