Adam Burrus was born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1983. He attended Saint Louis University where he double-majored in Finance and Economics and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (cum laude) in 2006. He received his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2009, earning a Certificate in Business and Transactional Law (with distinction).
Mr. Burrus joined Fleeson Gooing in 2009 and became a member of the firm in 2016. He represents businesses and individual clients in every facet of the legal process, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation. His practice is focused on representing clients in the areas of construction and business litigation, creditor’s rights, bankruptcy, and insurance defense. He has advised general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in matters involving construction defect claims and mechanic’s lien filings. He has also advised business clients on various breach of contract and collections issues.
Mr. Burrus is a member of the Kansas and Wichita Bar Associations. He currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Wichita Bar Association and is a past board member of the WBA Young Lawyers section. He is currently involved in the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, the Young Professionals of Wichita, and the United Way of the Plains. He is also actively involved in the Wichita Business Journal’s Emerging Leaders program, where he was a member of the program’s inaugural class in 2015. Mr. Burrus was named a Civil Litigation Rising Star in the 2016 edition of Super Lawyers for Missouri and Kansas.
In his spare time, Mr. Burrus enjoys spending time with friends and family and attending a variety of sporting and live music events. He stays active by playing golf and he enjoys boating and other outdoor activities.
