Brooks Severson’s practice involves a variety of complex litigation cases, including personal injury defense, general civil litigation matters, and employment law. Ms. Severson has also expanded her practice to include plaintiff’s personal injury cases.
Ms. Severson has actively participated in all phases of civil litigation and has first-chaired over ten jury trials, including two in federal court. She was named the Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year in 2010 and has been honored as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers magazine. For the past three years, Ms. Severson has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for Kansas and Missouri.
Ms. Severson is actively involved in both the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations. She previously served on the WBA Board of Governors and has also served as a volunteer speaker for various events. She has been a member of the Wichita Bar Association Young Lawyers board since 2008 and has served as the group's President. Ms. Severson is also actively involved in the Kansas Bar Association and has held the position of President of the KBA Young Lawyers Section. Currently, Ms. Severson sits on the board of directors for the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel.
In addition to her activities with the bar, Ms. Severson enjoys spending time with her husband Tom and their four dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys running and to date has completed three marathons and numerous half marathons.
