


Fleeson Gooing is pleased to welcome Sydney Walsh, Michael Braun, and Mary Mason (left to right above) as the firm’s 2023 summer law clerks.
Sydney was born and raised in Lyndon, Kansas. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Kansas State University in Criminology, with a minor in English Literature. While earning her degree, Sydney participated in the Kansas State club volleyball team and was involved in the prelaw program. She was also served as a short-term legal intern for Chief Judge Taylor Wine of the Fourth Judicial District prior to the summer of 2020. Sydney is slated to graduate from Washburn University School Law in December 2023 with honors. Outside of school and work, Sydney enjoys spending time with family, reading books, and running with her mom.
Michael was born and raised in Hays, Kansas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and completed a secondary major in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at Kansas State University. Michael recently finished his first year at Washburn University School of Law. Next year he will serve as an Academic Fellow at Washburn and he has also been chosen to be a mentor for incoming first-year law students. In his free time, Michael enjoys golfing, exploring nature, and watching sports.
Mary is from the Kansas City area. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts at Ave Maria University, where she double majored in Politics and Theology. Mary was a member of the cross-country team, served as a resident assistant, and founded the Voting Club during her time on campus. She recently completed her first year at Kansas University School of Law. Outside of school, Mary loves to spend time with her husband, read books, go on runs, and thrift shop. Mary and her husband are expecting their first child this October and are excited for the new adventures that will come with parenthood.
