Fleeson Gooing member Kent Meyerhoff testified before the Judiciary Committee of the Kansas Senate on January 23, 2012, in Topeka. Mr. Meyerhoff testified in support of Senate Bill 292, which would automatically revoke inheritance rights of ex-spouses in the event of a divorce. Mr. Meyerhoff co-authored SB 292, which was sponsored by the Kansas Judicial Council. On January 25, 2012, the Senate Judiciary Committee recommended SB 292 be passed by the full Senate. The bill passed the full Senate unanimously on February 2, 2012, and was introduced in the Kansas House of Representatives for consideration on February 6.
