Fleeson Gooing attorney Adam Burrus
recently assisted the United Way of the Plains in ensuring that 2014 donations will be invested for maximum community impact, by serving on the United Way’s 2013 Citizen Review Panel.
Citizen Review Panel volunteers are assigned to one of ten panels that review programs within the areas of education, income, and health. They reviewe program design, client outcomes, and detailed agency budget information. Collectively, the panel volunteers reviewed 87 programs at 36 agencies. Volunteers attend a training session, participate in three or four agency program presentations or site visits, and an afternoon wrap-up session.
The volunteers recommended, and the United Way Board of Directors approved, funding for 87 local programs with funding to being January 1, 2014.
